Lama Tashi

Update for Yangton Lama Tashi

A few years ago, we began to construct a permanent residence for Lama Tashi on a small piece of property that he owns in Kathmandu, Nepal. This was in response to the devastating earthquake in Kathmandu as well as Lama Tashi’s ongoing health concerns. Then 2 years ago, an incident of robbers coming to his lama residence in Tsarka while he was there made these plans much more urgent. With your kind donations, the house is now complete and Lama Tashi lives there during the harsh Nepal winters.

The residence has 2 floors, both containing 2 bedrooms, a small kitchen area and a bathroom, as well as a 3rd floor with a small shrine room. This space will allow for family to stay with Lama Tashi as well as the assistant that lives with him in order to give him needed help.

This year, we have been told his health is not good and he may be too frail to return to Tsarka this year. His niece is with him in Kathmandu and is taking care of him, but we would like to find some additional help for them (cooking, housekeeping, etc).

If you would like to donate to help Lama Tashi, please consider making a tax deductible donation through Khyungdzong Wodsel Ling by following the link below or send a check payable to Khyungdzong Wodsel Ling to:
